4.0 REFLECTION

4.1 EXPERIENCE

I'd say, overall, I had a pretty good experience with Typography. There were times when I felt the assignment crunching was going to cause my premature death, and there were times when the assignments were over before I even noticed. There are ups and downs, but it's safe to say the positives outweigh the negatives. 

4.2 OBSERVATIONS

As this module comes to an end, I realise that I've started paying more attention to typography in everyday life. I've found myself thinking about why I like certain logo designs, why certain fonts work and others don't, whether the kerning of a piece of text looks right or not, etc. It's funny and fascinating how quickly my eye has been trained to notice these details over the course of 14 weeks. I've come a long way since my days as a high school magazine editor.

4.3 FINDINGS

Typography is a very suitable module for someone who's very particular about the nitty-gritty details. There's a lot more to it than what's visible on the surface. On the one hand, I have a field day every time I get to fiddle around with InDesign and Illustrator, on the other hand, I spend too much time obsessing over things that don't matter. Not sure if this is enabling my perfectionism or what.😅
